Homeschooling year 3
What a great year this year has been in the world of homeschooling my children! They have been so cooperative and are enjoying most of their work they are doing! Here are a couple of projects they have been working on. The first picture is Samuels SS Project, he was asked to make a welcoming sign to his classroom, so he made it for his bedroom :) The second one is Lilly's SS project, she is learning about Canada's flag, but she also wanted to draw other flags as well. The third one is Leah's timeline for her SS text, which is Mystery of History. I love this text as it integrates all the history of the Bible with all other history that is going on at the same time. Very cool and very interesting!
Vacation
We finally were able to have a vacation that didn't involve staying the whole time at a relative's home. We were able to plan a great time away with our kids and their grandparents. We went to Parksville on Vancouver Island. The kids really wanted to see the ocean. I am not a fan of boats so I haven't wanted to go until now. The ferry ride turned out to be great, there was even some Orcas sighted on our way over. Here are some pics from our trip.

Peru
In SS Leah is learning about being a global citizen. She did two bigger projects, one was a written report on Papau New Guinea, the other was more of an art project with info mixed in of Peru. I was very proud of the time she took to do her one on Peru. I think it turned out great!
Two wheels!!!
Samuel decided to teach his little sister how to get riding her two wheeled bike. He was so nice to her, he was so caring. It made my week to see the two of them together getting along. Every time Lilly went close to the road or a hill he ran as hard as he could to get close to her so that she wouldn't get hurt, and if she fell he was right beside her to comfort. It is amazing how these things just tug at a mom's heart. Raising kids is one of if not the toughest jobs ever, when days like this come around it makes it all worth it. I am so proud of my boy and girl!
The garden so far
The animals
Lilly was learning about animals and their habitats, this year. This was her favorite thing. We took some pictures of some of the animals around us. We now have chickens too, but haven't got any shots of them yet, because basically they stink. So this mama stays away :)
